On Saturday, Iranian media reported renewed airstrikes across several locations inside the country, while Tehran launched a new wave of missile attacks targeting Israeli territory. The exchange of strikes marks another dramatic escalation in a conflict that is already shaking the wider Middle East and global markets.
Explosions were reported in multiple Iranian cities, including the capital Tehran, as Israeli and American forces continued their aerial campaign against Iranian military infrastructure.
Iran Announces New Missile Offensive
According to Iran’s semi-official Fars News Agency, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced the start of a new wave of missile attacks targeting what it described as American and Israeli military positions.
The statement indicated that the attacks involved “high-precision missiles,” though no further technical details were immediately provided.
Shortly after the announcement, air raid sirens sounded across central Israel, including Tel Aviv and surrounding areas, after several hours of relative calm.
Residents rushed to shelters as Israeli defense systems attempted to intercept the incoming projectiles.
Explosions Heard Across Jerusalem
Explosions were also heard in the skies above Jerusalem early Saturday morning after Israeli authorities detected missile launches from Iran.
At least three loud blasts were reported as air defense systems activated to intercept the incoming missiles. Local residents were seen moving quickly toward nearby shelters as warning sirens echoed across the city.
The Israeli military confirmed it had identified the launches and had begun interception operations.
Massive Airstrikes Target Iranian Military Sites
Meanwhile, powerful explosions were reported across several Iranian provinces, including Isfahan, Hormozgan Province, and parts of Tehran.
Iranian media reported that one of the strikes targeted the headquarters of the Revolutionary Guard in southeastern Tehran. Another strike reportedly hit a military base in southern Iran.
Local officials in Isfahan province confirmed that at least eight civilians were killed in the attacks, including one woman.
According to Akbar Salehi, a security official in the Isfahan governor’s office, American and Israeli fighter jets launched attacks on several locations across the province.
The strikes reportedly damaged around 80 residential homes in the city of Isfahan and surrounding districts such as Lenjan and Borkhar.
Israel Conducts Large-Scale Air Operation
Earlier Saturday, Israel confirmed launching a large-scale wave of strikes involving more than 80 fighter jets targeting locations in Tehran and central Iran.
According to a statement from the Israel Defense Forces, the aircraft dropped approximately 230 munitions on multiple military targets.
Among the locations reportedly targeted were:
- missile launch platforms in western and central Iran
- missile storage facilities
- underground command centers
- a military university in northeastern Tehran
The Israeli military said the operation was aimed at reducing Iran’s ability to continue launching missile attacks toward Israeli territory.
Tehran Airport and Military Infrastructure Hit
Iranian media outlets also reported strikes near Mehrabad International Airport in Tehran.
Video footage broadcast by Iranian state television showed massive fires burning near the airport complex following the strikes.
Other reports indicated that an attack targeted facilities linked to the aerospace division of the Revolutionary Guard, though the extent of the damage remains unclear.
Israeli officials stated that the strikes were part of a broader effort to dismantle Iran’s missile infrastructure.
Trump Calls for “Unconditional Surrender”
Amid the escalating conflict, Donald Trump issued a strong statement demanding what he described as the “unconditional surrender” of Iran.
Writing on social media, the U.S. president said there would be no agreement with Tehran unless it accepted full surrender terms.
Trump added that after such a surrender, the United States and its allies would work to rebuild Iran and restore economic stability in the country.
His comments came shortly after the Iranian president suggested that unnamed countries had begun mediation efforts aimed at finding a diplomatic solution to the crisis.
War Expands Across the Region
The conflict has already spread beyond Iranian territory.
Iran has reportedly launched attacks targeting Israel as well as several Gulf states hosting American military bases.
Meanwhile, Israel has expanded its military operations into Lebanon, conducting airstrikes on Beirut after issuing evacuation warnings to residents in parts of the city’s southern suburbs.
The widening conflict has raised fears that the war could escalate into a broader regional confrontation involving multiple countries.
Rising Casualties and Global Economic Impact
According to the Iranian Red Crescent Society, at least 1,332 people have been killed in Iran since the start of the U.S. and Israeli strikes on February 28.
In Lebanon, the health ministry reported 123 people killed and 683 wounded due to Israeli airstrikes.
Inside Israel, Iranian attacks have killed 11 civilians, while at least six American soldiers have reportedly died during the conflict.
The war has also shaken global financial markets, sending oil prices sharply higher amid fears of disruption to Middle Eastern energy supplies.
Uncertainty Over the War’s Outcome
Despite the intense military activity on all sides, analysts say it remains unclear how the conflict will ultimately end.
Israeli officials have openly stated that one of their strategic goals is the removal of the current ruling system in Iran.
